01 — What is happening

The document they send is convincing. It carries our real company number and our real registered office, both copied from the public register at Companies House, and it is signed in the name of one of our directors with a signature that is not his. It is a forgery.

One of the people being impersonated is Rebecca Healey. Rebecca was a director of this company until December 2022 and has had no connection with it since. Anyone contacting you as “Rebecca Healey, Creative Director of My Art Agency UK” is not who they say they are.

02 — What we will never do

We will never approach an artist from an address other than info@myartagency.co. We will never conduct an agreement over WhatsApp. We will never ask you to pay production, framing, shipping or exhibition costs to us in advance, and we will never ask you to send us artwork before you have spoken to a named person here and confirmed who they are.

03 — Reporting

We have reported this to the domain registrar and to the police. If you have already sent money or artwork, report it to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk if you are in the UK, or to your local police if you are not.

If you have been contacted

Do not sign anything. Do not send money. Do not ship any work. Do not send copies of your passport, ID or bank details.

Email us and we will tell you straight away whether it came from us. Three artists have come to us in three days, which suggests more have been approached. If that includes you, we would like to hear from you even if you did not go any further with it.

Tom is a contemporary artist who’s well-known mixed media landscapes, from cityscapes through to coastal, offer realism, intrigue and often humour. 

 

Nuala Mulligan

Specialising in print works, Nuala is particularly interested in lenticulars and the movement of light, using iconic photographs of the rich and famous.
